New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Maverick) Maverick, the creative community for a new generation of innovators, artists, activists and entrepreneurs, launches a "Summer of Music" challenge series today, in celebration of
Chloe and Halle Bailey, aka
Chloe x Halle - 'Founding Mavericks' and role models for the community - joining JAY-Z and Beyoncé's groundbreaking OTR II tour. The Summer of
Music series will launch with a custom challenge from
Chloe x Halle themselves in which they invite girls to compose and perform a verse based on the things that they most love about themselves.
"Chloe x Halle were the very first of our 'Founding Mavericks' - young women who truly embody what it means to be a
Maverick - and we're so excited to see them participate in this extraordinary tour, because it really does send a powerful message to girls: that you're never too young to do epic things," said
Maverick co-founder and CCO, Catherine Connors.
Chloe x Halle's challenge will be the first of a series of music and performance-themed challenges that will run through July and August and which are designed to inspire girls and young women to think creatively about how they express themselves, and to consider music and performance as opportunities to innovate and take risks.
"Beyoncé has, of course, led the way in inspiring girls and women to think of themselves as potential innovators and groundbreakers - and her inspiration shines through in
Chloe x Halle, who in turn are showing young girls in particular that they truly can 'run the world,' " said Connors. "Chloe x Halle's debut album, The Kids Are Alright, makes a definitive declaration and young people and especially young women, have a voice and they are not afraid to use it to change the world. We're excited to see how
Maverick girls take those inspirations and run with them."
"Maverick gives young girls and women the power to shine in their skin and embrace who they truly are," said
Chloe x Halle. "Throughout drastic changes in our lives, we realized using creativity as an outlet has saved us and allowed us to find our true purpose. We want everyone to recognize their gifts and make the world a better place simply by telling their stories through art."
The winner of the
Chloe x Halle challenge will win a trip for two to attend the Rose Bowl performance of the OTR II tour (airfare, accommodations, and concert tickets.)
