"This record is a collection of songs I've written about choosing to embrace the uncertain moments in life and learning from mistakes, " said KellyMarie, about her newly published EP. "I've been making music and performing all over the South, and I'm excited to be officially releasing my songs with Starling House Records under my own name."
Featuring energetic horns, lively keys, electric guitars lines, and percussion, "On A Whim" matches KellyMarie's airy and sly vocals with bright tones to create a true folk-pop sound that is both melodic and musing. The record has also been received well by critics, with national indiemusic review website Come Here Floyd stating, "KellyMarie reminds us of a classic singersongwriting from Lilly Allen a long time ago. Just sprite-y, light, and refreshing in many ways."
