NEW YORK (AP) - Britney Spears has pushed the kickoff date of her Britney 2001 Tour back from Oct. 26 in Miami to Oct. 31 in Washington, D.C., and has added six new markets to the trek.

The six new markets are East Rutherford, N.J.; Atlanta; New Orleans; Salt Lake City; Raleigh, N.C.; and a second show in Las Vegas. The Miami show will now take place on Dec. 19, while the Oct. 28 show in Tampa is being bumped to Dec. 18.

The launch of the tour, in support of her forthcoming new album, Britney (due Nov. 6 on Jive), was delayed because the singer got the flu upon returning from a promotional tour of Australia.

Spears will be making the TV rounds as well: Nov. 3-4, MTV weekend; Nov. 4, Fox Family's Listen Up; Nov. 5, The Rosie O'Donnell Show; Nov. 6, CBS' The Late Show with David Letterman; Nov. 6, MTV's Total Request Live; Nov. 18, HBO's Live from Las Vegas; and Nov. 19, NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
