New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Just over 45 years ago, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jack Tempchin sat at a table at a Wiernerschnitzel hot dog stand in San Diego, CA and finished composing one of the most iconic rock ballads ever, "Peaceful Easy Feeling."
Glenn Frey, Tempchin's good friend and writing partner, took the song back to his 'new' band, just eight days old -the
Eagles - who recorded and released it on December 1st, 1972, as the third single from their eponymous debut LP.
In celebration of his dear friend,
Glenn Frey, and the song that forever connects them both,Tempchin is continuing his 'Peaceful Easy
Feeling 45th Anniversary Tour' celebration with stops at Southern California landmark venues McCabe's and The Palomino. Beginning on November 2nd in San Francisco, the singer-songwriter will make eight stops during his West Coat Tour with troubadour Keith Harkin on Harkin's 'Keep On Rolling Tour'.
Jack Tempchin's multi-platinum hits are iconic touchstones of 'The Southern California Sound'. His best known compositions are "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and co-write "
Already Gone". These two songs are on the *RIAA's recently re-certified *Best-Selling U.S. Album Of The 20th Century*, 'Eagles Their Greatest Hits: 1971-1975'. Tempchin also co-composed three additional
Eagles hits, "The Girl From Yesterday", "
Somebody", and "It's Your World Now", the
Glenn Frey co-written farewell song.
With a dozen Top 40 hits in the 1980s Tempchin/Frey co-writes include: "Part Of Me, Part Of You" from Oscar-winning film 'Thelma & Louise', "You Belong To The City" and "Smuggler's Blues" from the Miami Vice TV soundtrack, plus "
Sexy Girl", "
True Love", "Soul Searchin'", "The One You Love," and "I Found Somebody". Tempchin tunes have also been recorded by music legends
George Jones, Emmylou Harris, Glen Campbell,
Tanya Tucker, Trisha Yearwood, Sammy Kershaw, Richie Havens, Kate Wolf, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, Randy Meisner, The Paladins and others. Johnny Rivers' Top 10 hit "Slow Dancing (Swayin; to the Music)", was also solely composed by Jack Tempchin.
In 2017, Jack Tempchin released his greatest hits on one album, 'Peaceful Easy
Feeling - The Songs of Jack Tempchin' on Blue Elan Records. These tracks come from a spectrum of emotional influences and drives and the majority were written with
Glenn Frey. Jack takes to the mic as both solo and duet with guest vocalists like Rita Coolidge, Janiva Magness, Chris Hillman and Herb Pedersen. Finally, there is one very special track on this album, "Privacy," a previously unreleased piece written with his musical brother,
Glenn Frey.
Keith Harkin was part of the popular Irish music group, Celtic Thunder, for nearly a decade. After being discovered by Grammy-winning producer
David Foster, he signed to
Verve Records and released his self-titled debut solo album in 2012, where it became the #1 best seller on iTunes and reached #1 on the World
Music Chart in both the U.S. and Canada. Harkin's sophomore recording, 'On Mercy Street', was released in 2015, followed by his 2016 holiday release, 'Nollaig', both of which also reached #1 on Billboard's World
Music chart. His latest release, the live acoustic 'In the Round' album on Blue Elan Records, reached #3 on the iTunes singer / songwriter charts. For over a decade now, Keith has touched the hearts of fans with performances in venues large and small throughout Europe, North
America and Australia.
