New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Rising indie alt/pop act EAST OF ELI, fronted by singer/songwriter/actor Nathan West, has released their new song "The Get Down" today (September 13), along with an accompanying lyric video. The upbeat track--to be featured on an upcoming EP (details TBA)--is available now across all digital music platforms.
The vibrantly colorful lyric video for "The Get Down" first premiered yesterday with Glide Magazine, who noted, "West offers a radio-friendly followed by pop-minded rock backbone that recalls both
X Ambassadors and Walk the Moon" (9/12/18).
The video was created by 351 Studios/Sky Entertainment, which has produced many lyric videos for artists including One Direction, Cash Cash, Armin van Buuren, Robert DeLong,
Morgan Page, STS9, and Big Gigantic, along with previous EAST OF ELI videos. As West shared, "I got a little lucky getting the opportunity to work with such a high-profile production company...They are music lovers as well and fell in love with our unique sound that's EOE. We decided to embark on this joint venture and haven't stopped working together since."
When asked about the lyrics and meaning behind "The Get Down," Nathan, who co-wrote the song with Jordan Wright, said, "The song is all about the power of intimacy and connection between lovers. Today, more than ever, it seems all of our lives are overly saturated with an inbox full of 'to do's,' both personally and work related. That being the case, it's easy to get caught up in the busyness of our daily schedules that we undermine and forget how important it is to make a valid effort to connect on a physical level. Truth is, connecting on an intimate level is not only of the utmost importance but should always be a priority in a healthy relationship. This song was written based on moments for both [wife] Chyler and I, when out of the blue we've realized that 'the stars have aligned' schedule-wise giving us an opportunity to seize the moment and steal the time to be together." West's wife is actress Chyler Leigh(Supergirl, Grey's Anatomy), who often performs with EAST OF ELI.
Since its formation in 2014, EAST OF ELI has been featured in People, Hollywood Life, New York Post, Popdust, Popmatters and American Songwriter, among others. Huffington Post writer Randy Radic best described the music, which is nearing the 1 million mark for total plays on Spotify, saying, "East of Eli's sound falls into the indie alternative pop category, merging various flavors from classical, hip hop, pop and electronic dance music. The resulting sound projects a cinematic pop essence flowing with persuasive melodies, mature harmonics and captivating rhythms." The group has sold out Los Angeles' Troubadour and Roxy Theatre and New York's Knitting Factory and Rockwood
Music Hall, while also donating a lot of time to charity work. Stay tuned for more new music.
