Rod Melancon's Music Featured In National Toyota Commercial And Rolling Stone Magazine
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer-Songwriter, ROD MELANCON, woke up Monday morning to not only the critical success of his newest single, "Westgate," which was highlighted in Rolling Stone's Top 10 Songs of the week on Friday, but to also find his song, "Wanna Go for a Ride" featured in a national Toyota commercial!
"Last night one of my childhood friends called me up after he heard my song playing behind a Toyota commercial. I could hear the excitement in his voice. People from my hometown really root for one another. This is what it's all about," said Melancon.

"Westgate," is the first single from Rod Melancon's forthcoming album, Pinkville, set for release in spring 2019. The five songs from Pinkvillewere produced and mixed by Grammy award winning producer Adrian Quesada at Level One Studios in Austin, TX. Pinkville is the follow up to 2017's critically acclaimed Southern Gothic.

Rolling Stone praised "Westgate" as 'equal parts talking blues and bar-band Southern rocker. Melancon glues both halves together with a voice that's every bit as punchy and pockmarked as the song's protagonist.'
Of the song, Melancon admits, "I was recently asked 'Why would you ever write a song about the Westgate Apartments in Kaplan?' My answer was 'Why not? Everyone deserves a theme song.'"

"Wanna Go for a Ride" is a song featured on Melancon's second album,Parish Lines, released in 2014. The song, and the album, were a tribute and reflection of Melancon's home state. Growing up in rural Louisiana, everything Melancon does "will always be laced with The South. It's where I grew up. It's what I know." A thoroughly modern singer/songwriter, Melancon takes us further into the light and darkness of his own poetic vision based on tales of the people of his South Louisiana homeland.

The Rod Melancon Band will hit the road this fall for a southern jaunt beginning in Rod's childhood backyard of Lafayette, LA on September 28thbefore stops in New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville with more dates to be announced.
