Pilar Zeta To Release New Album "Moments Of Reality" On October 5, 2018
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pilar Zeta will release her debut album Moments of Reality on Ultramajic Records October 5th, after years of working as a graphic artist, designer and creative director. Inspired by Japanese post-modern art from the 1980s and produced using synthesizers from the 1990s, the new age album of nine electronic pieces is ambient and cinematic with an off-world feeling. The album was produced with Jimmy Edgar (Warp Records, Vince Staples' "745") and you can hear the album's second single and new video for "Better Learning"!

She tells BlackBook of the video created with 3-D animation, similar to the animation she and partner Edgar used to create the graphics for Miguel's current The Ascension tour (see photos below), "The song takes place within the imaginary Moments of Reality world, where we initiate a binary sequence program to improve learning about different scents. This object is a special filter oil diffuser able to differentiate between thousands of different scents, as we believe the ascended human could communicate with subtle scents. The video showcases the first few pieces of the digital sculptures in choreography.

Her sound draws on the style of bands like Art of Noise and Steve Roach that she was exposed to early in her life and evokes the work of Yasuaki Shimizu, Yello, and Laurie Anderson. Each of the nine tracks will feature a cover with different objects in absurdist settings. Much the same way Zeta's visuals seem to be artifacts from a parallel universe, Zeta's ethereal and melodic compositions sound like a coded language transmitting from a neighboring galaxy.
"I feel privileged to be able to translate my visual world into sound, the unknown was the most fun and fascinating aspect of it," notes the self-taught Argentinian artist.

Fueled by a lifelong love of the paranormal, Zeta's metaphysical iconography and music exist in futuristic, surreal, and elegant spaces. Her visual and sonic works function as a form of practical magic in a machine-centric world, connecting different mediums through a singular, transcendent vision.

As a graphic artist, Zeta has designed album covers for some of the top electronic labels and created packaging and live visuals for major recording artists.

She also co-founded Ultramajic, an art-driven record label with producer, Jimmy Edgar.

In 2015, Pilar became art director for the album A Head Full of Dreams byColdplay. An experience which spanned a year, in which Zeta collaborated closely with the band.

In 2017, she rebranded Michelle Phan's EM Cosmetics and also created live visuals for Katy Perry's Witness The Tour.

In June 2018, Zeta directed Miguel's BET Awards performance for "Come Through and Chill" & "Skywalker" and continues creative direction for his The Ascension Tour. In the fashion realm, Zeta co-created a line of sculptural sunglasses with Russian conceptualists FAKBYFAK which will debut at the end of 2018.
