New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Tzitzifriki is a solo music act, created and performed by Sotiris Z. Born in Ohio in 1995, at the age of 7 he moved to Greece where during the next years he became active in the local music scene. In 2015, he became the bass player of the band The Circus, along with his solo guitar-loop project. The year after, he joined Beggars, playing guitar, bass and saxophone. In 2017 their first 'Tape Sessions EP' was released, followed by a tour in Greece.
His self-produced debut 'Sun Sneeze' expresses ideas influenced by the music of Palm, Women and The Ex, the Lounge Lizards, Milo and Marika Papagika, Batis as well as Bamya and Kurws. The EP consists of home and field recordings, sound collages, and noise experiments, composed and performed by Tzitzifriki, inside his closet room.
'High Tempo Laugh' is the first single excerpt from his first full-lenght. Driven by a genuine vintage DIY feeling, the video, directed and edited by Marina Limani seems to really succeed in being consistent with the paranoid feelings conveyed by the song.
Sotiris comments on the song: "'High Tempo Laugh' is about an awkward feeling that peoples' expressions and actions just don't seem to make sense, and a general paranoia I have about passive-aggressive behaviour."
