Learn How To Make Every Scene Come Alive
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Learn the secrets to make every scene come alive!
Learn how to make every scene come alive!
A good film starts with a good story and a good story is built around compelling characters who take the audience on their emotional journey to their ultimate transformation.

The job of the actor is to fully embody the character and the job of the director is to remove any obstacles that impede the actors' ability to get deep into their characters.

But here is the rub. Both directors and actors unconsciously tend to control the characters.

Directors control by demanding results from actors. Actors control by planning their performances, thereby effectively blocking the characters from emerging freely and organically.

Most directors are never given the training in how to engage with actors in a creative and collaborative way. Without these skills for inspiring and supporting actors, directors will revert to result directing. This forces actors to fabricate the emotions and the attitudes they think will please the director.

With The Travis Technique, directors can bring out the characters' emotional truths from the actors without falling back on result directing. Actors can release their characters from within - raw and vulnerable, with wounds and secrets like everyday life. This is what makes each scene come alive.

The Travis Technique, developed by Mark W. Travis, is a radical, playful and profound way of directing. It will help directors shift their thinking, excavate deep truths, and encourage fearless artistry.

Directors learn to be free from the restraints of traditional directing and venture into inspired and powerful collaboration with the characters.

Actors get to relax and enjoy being the character.
Writers get to engage with characters up close, live and in person.
Training in The Travis Technique is offered worldwide through workshops and seminars, immersive mastery courses, individual mentoring programs and private consultations, face-to-face or via Skype.
