New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It's a sad day for the Leeds music scene and psych-rock community as Alcopop! Records signings and local heroes Weirds have decided to call it a day.
Announcing the news via their official Facebook page, the band—who released "one of the best British debut albums of 2017" according to Kerrang! Magazine—are signing off with one last special show at The Brudenell venue in Leeds on 1st November 2018, with support from Vulgarians, Cattle, Curb and Pulled Apart By Horses, and a DJ set from BBC Introducing's Emily Pilbeam.

As a final parting gift, the band have shared a new single along with a video for their epic, brooding psych anthem 'Supersymmetry'. The single is out now via all good digital service providers.

The band's official statement reads as follows:
"Weirds is coming to an end.

Together, for our own reasons and in our own ways, we have decided that it's time for us to move in different directions.

We have achieved so many things that we never considered possible when we first began to play music, and forged great friendships, experiences and memories along our journey as Weirds. For these things we are truly grateful.

We'd like to thank everyone who has helped Weirds along the way. The list is too numerous for us to comprehend, and your support, encouragement and input have helped to shape everything we have accomplished as a group. We will always remember you fondly and take your love forward with us to new pastures.

Weirds will be performing one final show on Thursday November 1st, at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds, a place where we have always felt at home. We will be joined by friends in Vulgarians, Cattle, Curb, Pilbeam Presents and Pulled Apart By Horses. It will be a great send off, and we'd love to see you all there to share the moment with us.

And before we sign off, keep your eyes peeled this Wednesday, October 3rd, for a final parting gift we'd like to share with you.
With thanks and love."

We'll miss you Weirds!
