DJ Halo Announces New Single To Debut At The Amsterdam Dance Event
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Every year in October, thousands of representatives from the global electronic music community descend upon Amsterdam, Netherlands, for the Amsterdam Dance Event. This year, DJ Halo will be spinning at the world famous Kashmir Lounge (Jan Pieter Heijestraat 85 / 87 1053GM Amsterdam) starting at 16:00 on October, 17, right as the week-long event is gearing up. The date coincides with the official release of his new single, Drive With Me (To The Edge of Space), which features Halo Askew Entertainment's flagship vocalists, Wendi Hughes and Elaine Benavides.

DJ Halo (appearing as Kris "Halo" Pierce on this release) skillfully blurs reality with this Coldwave-meets-Ambient Breaks track, blending his signature melancholic vocals with haunting, ever-evolving orchestrations. Drive With Me (To The Edge of Space) is an escapist anthem. Twenty-one years after two high school friends set up a studio in the garage, the symbiotic, outside-the-box, song-crafting between him and Wendi Hughes remains strong. The etherial, stream-of-consciousness vocalizations by Elaine Benavides twist expertly around the cut time beats and frantic breaks, taking on a life of their own as a living, breathing lullaby.

The supporting remixes, produced by Pierce as well, are deep dives into House and Drum n Bass territory and wildly diverse. Whereas the original mix is more living room electronica, Halo's Insomnia House and Everything Breakz remixes are DJ set friendly.

According to their website, "The Kashmir started out as a DJ Cafe / Coffeeshop. In the Old West of Amsterdam there was a big need for a place to chill, have a beer or a smoke or two with friends while listening to some great music." It was awarded "Best DJ Cafe" by DJMag.com in 2012.

Kris "Halo" Pierce (aka DJ Halo/Haunted Echo) is a multi-award winning, genre-crossing producer who has performed on America's Got Talent (8 million viewers) with placements at DJ Times, EDM Nations, MTV, TopSpin Media, Interscope, Viacom Media Networks, Sony Creative, and VH1. In 2015 he joined ranks with two-time Billboard Top 20 artist, Kim Cameron, releasing a dozen chart topping originals and remixes, while taking their show on the road to hot locales like NYC, DC, Croatia, Amsterdam, Prague, and Ibiza. Based in NYC, Pierce's recent projects include NBC/Universal's Grammy and Emmy Award winning "Jesus Christ Superstar Live" and "Gettin' The Band Back Together" on Broadway. He owns and operates Halo Askew Entertainment, a record label dedicated to eccentric electronic music curation, development, publication, and live production.
