New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, Soccer Mommy, the project of Nashville-native
Sophie Allison, released an Amazon Original cover of the Dixie Chicks' "Wide Open Spaces" on Amazon Music.
"I'm a huge Dixie
Chicks fan," explains
Sophie Allison. "I think 'Wide Open Spaces' is one of those perfect '90s alt country songs. Plus it's relatable to any girl who's moved away from home and had to start a new life somewhere. Covering it was super fun and I'm really happy with the turn out."
Earlier this year,
Soccer Mommy released her debut album Clean via Fat Possum Records. Clean has already received mid-year Best of 2018 nods from the likes of TIME, NPR, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, Stereogum, The AV Club, Hypebeast, Paste, The Ringer, Uproxx, Vinyl Me, Please and more. Upon its release, the album also landed at #1 on the NACC College
Radio Chart for 4 weeks straight, #1 on Spinitron chart, #7 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, #13 on Billboard's Vinyl chart, and #79 on Billboard's Top Album chart.
Soccer Mommy is on tour now, including a string of dates opening for Kacey Musgraves. Find a full list of tour dates below and ticket links HERE.
