Baltimore Rockers Western Star Announce Sophomore Album "Any Way How", Out On Saustex Records November 16, 2018
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Western Star is a four piece rock'n'roll outfit out of Baltimore, Maryland that has been touring the U.S. successfully and continually for the last 3 years, establishing roots up and down the East Coast and all across the South. They've become a mainstay in their adopted hometown of Baltimore, packing out the Ottobar and rocking support slots for name headliners including Greta Van Fleet, the Old 97's, and The Ataris as well as landing the cover of the City Paper Baltimore weekly and receiving consistent spins and attention from local radio tastemakers at 89.7 WTMD in Towson, MD.

With producer/engineer J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) behind the board at the Magpie Cage in Baltimore, Western Star now arrive with their second full length album, Any Way How. They've embraced a clearer and more concise approach and Robbins' polished production sets this record up and apart from their first. Musically the band maintains the wheelhouse established on Fireball: a garage inspired brand of hard rock with a classic feel that has nods to the Irish blues boogie of Thin Lizzy and to their heroes the Old 97's. Lyrically the new album reveals an almost desperate determination and taps experiences of family and personal struggle and love lost that are solidified into dark but never hopeless rock'n'roll anthems.
Having just returned from a run of Texas and California dates, the band will celebrate the release with a hometown show November 10th at Waverly Brewing.

The "Shocking Blue" edition of 105 copies is available exclusively via mail order from Saustex Records. The "Sturdy Black American" edition will be distributed via Burnside Distribution in North America and Rough Trade in Europe with mid and late November release dates, respectively.

Their debut album Fireball, released by Saustex Records in 2015, was produced by guitarist Ken Bethea of the Old 97's and scored a number of nice reviews. After touring hard through 2016 with a SXSW appearance and East Coast run opening for the 97's, the band underwent a lineup change with fill-in/designated hitter bassist Matt Milner taking the place of original member Nick Jeffers. Milner now joins hard-working original members Justin Myers (lead guitar), Bob Shade (drums) and driving force, guitarist, lead vocalist, chief songwriter and ringleader Max Jeffers as a full and permanent piece of Western Star. The boys returned to SXSW in 2017 and were joined by Rodney "Pie-Man" Henry on a month long tour. They hit the road with renewed vigor and a truckload of new songs that they would go on to record through the winter.
