New York, NY (Top40 Charts) After 14 years,
Andrea Bocelli releases his first album of new material: Si via Decca/Universal Music. It features a host of major duet partners including Ed Sheeran,
Dua Lipa and
Josh Groban as well as his son
Matteo Bocelli - their song "Fall on Me" has proved a viral hit with the music video clocking up 20 million views in 4 weeks.
The new single "
If Only" (also out today) sees
Andrea Bocelli team up with international pop sensation Dua Lipa. The song was co-written by Francesco Sartori and the late Lucio Quarantotto - who helped pen one of Bocelli's biggest hits, "Con Te Partirò" (Time To Say Goodbye), which was released over 20 years ago and has become one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Also joining Bocelli on the album is his friend
Ed Sheeran - reuniting after their chart-topping "
Perfect Symphony" on a brand-new song called "Amo Soltanto Te" (written by Ed with lyrics by Tiziano Ferro). Crossover superstar
Josh Groban performs on the track "We Will Meet Once Again" and classical soprano Aida Garifullina lends her stunning vocals to "Ave
Maria Pietas".
At the centre of the album is a spine-tingling duet between father and son, as 21-year-old
Matteo Bocelli steps into the limelight to duet with
Andrea on "
Fall On Me". The video has already racked up a staggering 20 million views across digital platforms.
"Fall on Me" will appear in the end credits of the hotly-anticipated new Disney film, The Nutcracker and The Four Realms, starring
Keira Knightley, Mackenzie Foy, Helen Mirren and
Morgan Freeman, to be released on 2nd November. The soundtrack is also released today on Decca/Walt Disney Records/Universal
Music Canada.
Bocelli's humble manner belies his international status as one of the world's biggest classical stars.
