New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Morrissey pays tribute to his dear friend and collaborator Chrissie Hynde with a cover of Pretenders ' classic "Back on the Chain Gang." The video, premiering exclusively on Rolling Stone today, sees the "peerless" ( Rolling Stone ) rocker playing guitar flanked by his backing band and hazy-eyed dancers in 60s fashion in front of a wall of old posters depicting the man himself. The video's Lynchian setting only further adds to the dreamy air of the cover, a jangly re-imagining of the original bolstered by Morrissey's unmistakable croon.

The Britpop legend is set to perform "Back on the Chain Gang" on The Late Late Show with James Corden on November 7th. The "touching" ( Billboard )cover is the single from the upcoming special double vinyl deluxe edition of latest effort 'Low in High School' (BMG). The re-release, out on December 7th, features four unreleased original tracks, five live cover songs of Morrissey 's favorite artists, and a limited edition lithographed photograph of Morrissey , and a rare version of a photo booth portrait taken when the legendary frontman was a student.
