New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Ariana Grande extends her reign at Number 1 the UK Singles Chart with thank u, next on to a fifth week, setting a new streaming record. The track notched up a massive 14.9 million streams this week, 7.9 million of which were from its music video, released last week. It's the highest number of plays in a week in UK chart history, overtaking Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You, which racked up 14.2 million streams in a single week last year.
Grande's fifth week at Number 1 gives her the longest-reigning chart-topper for a female artist since 2008, when
Katy Perry managed a five-week stint with I Kissed A Girl.
Meanwhile,
Ava Max climbs to Number 2 with Sweet But Psycho, up four positions from last week, and Halsey's Without Me hits a new peak at Number 3.
