Kalie Shorr Featured On NPR's Morning Edition
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Kalie Shorr, one of Nashville's hottest up-and-coming artists, was recently featured on NPR's Morning Edition in a piece titled "Female Country Music Singers in Nashville Navigate Gender Bias To Be Heard". The seven-minute segment, premiered on Dec. 26, focuses on Shorr's journey through the Nashville music industry and how she and other women in country music are fighting and overcoming gender bias. The feature also includes commentary from CMT Senior Vice President of Music Strategy Leslie Fram, Shorr's manager and Song Suffragettes founder, Todd Cassetty, and fellow Song Suffragettes Chloe Gilligan and Regan Stewart.

Says Shorr, "It's great to wrap up 2018 with people saying nice things about your music but it's even better to be a part of conversations that will hopefully encourage positive change. I'm excited about more conversations - and new music - in 2019!"

Shorr was also featured in one of NPR's "Best Music of 2018" stories with author and acclaimed music reporter Jewly Hight spotlighting her latest EP Awake: "Awake, with its moments of angsty disclosure and cutting emo guitar riffs, prioritized personal authenticity over country radio-friendliness." Read that story here as well as the mention Shorr receives in Slate's series called "The Music Club, 2018", here.

Kalie Shorr just wrapped headlining the 2018 "Road To The CMA Awards" Tour, visiting Walmarts across the U.S. to promote the 52nd annual CMA Awards. She also co-hosts daily segments on Radio Disney Country called "Let The Girls Play" with fellow artist Savannah Keyes. You can find Shorr's music on Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. As tour dates continue to be announced, you can stay current with Kalie on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to follow her on Youtube and visit www.kalieshorr.com.

Kalie Shorr burst onto the Nashville music scene in 2016 with her self-penned hit "Fight Like A Girl". The Portland, Maine, singer-songwriter became a Sirius XM Highway Find and was praised by Spotify, CMT, Radio Disney Country, Taste of Country, and even Billboard magazine. In 2017, Kalie released her Slingshot EP to rave reviews and was named "New Artist You Need to Know" by Rolling Stone, "The New Nashville" by Teen Vogue, and one of "2017's Hottest Artists Under 25" by Taste of Country. Her first 2018 single "Two Hands" garnered airplay on Sirius XM, Radio Disney Country, Pandora and TuneIn with prominent placement on Apple Music's Breaking Country and Cool Country playlists. Named a CMT Next Women of Country and a "Top 10 Country Artists To Watch In 2018" by the Huffington Post, Kalie released her latest EP Awake to critical acclaim and toured with Sara Evans and RaeLynn on the CMT Next Women of Country Tour. On March 31, 2018, Kalie fulfilled a life-long dream when she made her Grand Ole Opry debut calling it "one of the most emotional experiences of my life" and has since gone on to play the Opry eight times. Kalie just wrapped headlining the Walmart/Pepsi "Road to the CMA Awards" Tour raising awareness for the 52nd annual CMA Awards telecast. Playing over 100 shows a year, Kalie's message of female-empowerment has led to her being called the "next 'Women of Country' generation" [CMChat] and a "modern country woman [who will] continue to inspire in 2018."
