SANTA MONICA, CA. (Geffen Records) - It was bound to happen. After weeks of rising to the top of the "counter-culture," Geffen band Rise Against cracked Billboard's Top 200 album chart.
Their latest CD "Siren Song Of The Counter-Culture" debuted at No 178. After 32 weeks in release, the band remains No 12 on the Billboard New Artist Chart. The album enjoyed big sales its first week out, propelling it to a coveted No 3 on the Billboard "Heatseekers" chart. Sales of "Siren Song Of The Counter-Culture" are at over 120,000 units with nearly 200,000 shipped.

The band's latest single "Give It All" continues to expand airplay, with Mediabase reporting a 2.5 million audience for the track and BDS with a 1.8 million audience. The latest key radio markets to spin the single include Chicago, L.A., San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Tampa, Boston, New York and San Diego. MTV2 and Fuse continue to heavily support the video - plays total a combined 35 spins a week. The band's second single "Swing Life Away" is on deck and is poised to take things to the next level after its radio add date of April 26th.

Rise Against is comprised of vocalist Tim McIlrath, bassist Joe Principe, drummer Brandon Barnes and guitarist Chris Chasse. In spring 2001, the quartet released their debut CD "The Unraveling" on Fat Wreck Chords. After two years of touring, Rise Against recorded "Revolutions Per Minute" (2002).
"Siren Song Of The Counter-Culture" was produced by Gggarth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Chevelle, Sick Of It All) at his Vancouver studio.
The band is currently touring the US after a run of sold-out Canadian and US tour dates.
