BMI Announces Additional Lineup For The 2019 Sundance Film Festival
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) unveils additional lineup for its programming at this year's Sundance Film Festival featuring the 21st edition of the Composer and Director Roundtable "Music & Film: The Creative Process," on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019 at theKimball Arts Center, followed by the 17th annual BMI Snowball on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019 at The Shop.

Oscar and Grammy nominated BMI songwriter Patty Smyth burst onto the music scene with her band Scandal in the early '80s. As a solo artist in the early '90s, Smyth's chart-topping platinum hit "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough" became the biggest hit of her career landing at No. 1 on Billboard's AC chart and No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart where it stayed for six consecutive weeks.

Smyth now makes her Sundance debut at this year's Snowball showcase as the headliner of an eclectic all-star female line-up featuring S-Curve Records/BMG recording artists Neyla Pekarek(formerly of The Lumineers) and Hailey Knox, as well as Brooklyn born and bred performing artistTamar-kali. Throughout the years, BMI's Snowball has grown into a must-see event for festival-goers by showcasing a phenomenal mixture of buzzworthy and iconic talent. Memorable performers have included Rita Wilson, Devo, Death Cab for Cutie, Dawes, John Paul White, Christina Perri, KT Tunstall, Beck, Angela McCluskey, Rosanne Cash, Cheap Trick, Percy Sledge, Donovan, Robert Randolph, Terence Blanchard and Keb Mo, among others.

Joining this year's panelists at the Composer and Director Roundtable "Music & Film: The Creative Process," are composer Enis Rotthoff and director David Wnendt (The Sunlit Night); and composer David Wingo and director Scott Z. Burns (The Report).

Previously announced guests include the Director of the Sundance Institute Film Music ProgramPeter Golub; composer Mandy Hoffman and director Minhal Baig (Hala); composer Jon Ekstrandand director May el-Toukhy (Queen of Hearts); composer Blake Neely and director Ryan White(Ask Dr. Ruth); composer Heather McIntosh and director Martha Stephens (To the Stars); and composer Will Bates (The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley and The Sound of Silence). As moderator, Doreen Ringer-Ross, BMI's Vice President of Film, TV & Visual Media Relations, will guide the conversation as participants discuss what goes into producing a successful film score and the ingredients of a productive creative relationship.
