New York, NY (Top40 Charts / The Knot)
Today, The Knot announces the launch of the Spotify playlist "Wedding Songs by The Knot," which will serve up musical inspiration for couples across the globe. The first artist to come on board in curating a powerful playlist to inspire and celebrate love is superstar Meghan Trainor; the playlist will feature all new music and insider commentary on her new EP, The Love Train. Whether you're currently planning a wedding or said "I do" decades ago, you can now stream music that will inspire you to fall in love all over again—just in time for Valentine's Day.
The Knot and Spotify teams will add new music to the "Wedding Songs" playlist throughout 2019, curating songs for every type of couple to inspire them at each stage of their wedding journey. From the rock and indie-loving couple who fell in love at Bonnaroo, to the newlyweds who spend every Saturday dancing at their local honky-tonk, "Wedding Songs by The Knot" on Spotify has every couple covered.
"Music has the ability to transport us to another place and time; your first dance song, for instance, will always bring you back to that first moment as newlyweds dancing on your wedding night surrounded by family and friends," said Kristen Maxwell
Cooper, editor in chief of The Knot. "We're excited to collaborate with the most popular music streaming platform, Spotify, to help couples around the globe make tradition through their music choices."
The first playlist curation includes the top 10 most popular first dance songs, as determined by The Knot 2018 Real Weddings Study (the most comprehensive study of the wedding industry); Meghan Trainor's EP, The Love Train; and 29 additional songs specially curated by The Knot, Spotify and Meghan Trainor
that will inspire feelings of love, celebration and joy leading up to Valentine's Day, one of the most popular days of the year to get engaged. Couples can stream and follow the playlist to stay up to date with the latest collection of ballads as selected by The Knot, Spotify and Meghan Trainor.
"I'm so excited to be teaming up with The Knot and Spotify to spread the love this Valentine's," said Meghan Trainor. "Everybody deserves love, so I hope these songs inspire you all to dance, sing, smile and maybe even shed a tear."
