k.d. Lang To Bring "Ingénue Redux" Tour To UK & Ireland
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) k.d. lang has announced thirteen shows in the UK and Ireland in July as part of her ongoing world tour celebrating the 25th anniversary of her Grammy Award-winning, critically acclaimed album Ingénue. Following lauded sold-out runs in Canada, the United States, and Australia, the latest leg of the Ingénue Redux Tour gives fans the opportunity to experience the multi-platinum album performed live in its entirety to mark its silver anniversary, as well as additional songs from lang's celebrated career. The tour begins in Hull on July 13 and ends in Dublin on July 31, including London's Eventim Apollo on July. These dates mark lang's first full UK tour in over a decade. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 1.

"lang's performance proved that, even after a quarter of a century, [Ingénue] is still an album to fully immerse yourself in," said the Calgary Herald of the tour. "But it was the startling power of that impeccably controlled mezzo-soprano voice, which can veer from melodramatic and anguished to nuanced and jazzy in a beat, that stole the show."

"A canny and sumptuous blend of roots music and pre-rock pop, Ingénue sounds as great today as it did upon its release," said the Los Angeles Times; the songs "shimmered with dreamy textures."

The tour follows the release of a re-mastered 25th Anniversary Edition of Ingénue. The two-disc set includes eight previously unreleased live performances from lang's 1993 MTV Unplugged episode, recorded in New York City's famed Ed Sullivan Theater. In the words of Uncut, "Ingénue still dazzles, 25 years on. Luminous, languid and seductive to the point of intoxication. This reissue proves its status as a modern classic."

Ingénue was k.d. lang's fifth album, following a quartet of records that pushed the boundaries of country music. Released in 1992, the album was the first of entirely new material. lang wrote most of the songs with her longtime collaborator Ben Mink; Greg Penny co-wrote 'So It Shall Be', and all three produced the album. The NME named it one of the year's best albums and said, "You will fall in love with Ingénue. In fact, you will want to have its children."
