New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 2019 is off to a whirlwind start for Junius Meyvant. During the course of just a few short weeks, Iceland's soul man has released his new album Across The Borders on Glassnote Records, been named an NPR Slingshot 'Artist To Watch In 2019' and was lauded by TIME Magazine for "building compositions as textured as the dramatic landscape from which he hails." On top of all that, he's currently in the midst of a month-long headlining European tour - on which he'll bring Across The Borders to London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin for the first time - and will return to the United States in May for a run of soon-to-be-announced, full-band dates. He has already been confirmed for the 19th Annual NON-COMMvention in Philadelphia (May 14-17), where he'll share the stage with Morrissey, Phosphorescent and more.

Around the release of Across The Borders, Junius Meyvant traveled to New York and performed some mesmerizing one-man renditions of songs from the new album in the Paste Studios.

Junius Meyvant's full-band return to the United States will give him the chance to bring Across The Borders' euphoric, uplifting, horn-drenched sound to audiences in full effect - it's the kind of energy that has led NPR Music to proclaim "listening to Junius Meyvant, no matter what issues you've got going on in your life, is enough to make you feel like everything's gonna be all right." The mass of critical praise for Across The Borders comes on the heels of Junius Meyvant capturing wins for Best Single, Best Pop Album and Newcomer of The Year at his home country's Icelandic Music Awards and signing to Glassnote Records in the United States. Much of the record is inspired by the 60s/70s funk, jazz and soul music he grew up listening to in Iceland's remote Westman Islands; Curtis Mayfield, David Axelrod and Marvin Gaye are among the chief influences on his present-day sound.
