The Music Center Presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration Album Is Out Today!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Honouring musical icon Joni Mitchell's legacy and 75th birthday, Decca Records/Universal Music today release The Music Center Presents Joni 75: A Birthday Celebration. On Joni's 75th birthday last November, a star-studded roster of musicians gathered together to pay tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter. The recording of this tribute concert features performances by Brandi Carlile; Glen Hansard; Emmylou Harris; Norah Jones; Chaka Khan; Diana Krall; Kris Kristofferson; Los Lobos with La Marisoul, Cesar Castro & Xochi Flores; Graham Nash; James Taylor; Seal; Rufus Wainwright; and more. The full track list is below.

Recorded at The Music Center's Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, a stage on which Mitchell twice performed in 1972 and 1974, the album includes performances and interpretations of classic Mitchell songs including Brandi Carlile & Kris Kristofferson performing "A Case of You", Seal's version of "Both Sides Now", Diana Krall singing "Amelia", Rufus Wainwright's "Blue", Norah Jones's version of "Court And Spark" and many more.

Percussionist Brian Blade, who recorded three studio albums and toured extensively with Mitchell, served as Co-Musical Director, providing musical arrangements for the live concert recording with Co-Musical Director, composer, arranger and producer Jon Cowherd.

Rachel Moore, president and CEO of The Music Center said, "By honoring Joni Mitchell, an amazing iconic artist, The Music Center had an incredible opportunity to bring her music to Los Angeles audiences. Now that experience can be enjoyed by many more Joni Mitchell fans with an album that allows other music legends to shine a light on her artistry."

With nine Grammy awards and 16 Grammy nominations to her name, as well as a catalogue of music that spans more than five decades, Mitchell is a music icon whose work continues to inspire generations of artists. In 2017, Mitchell's 1971 album Blue was named number one on National Public Radio's list of the 150 greatest albums made by women. Her work has no boundaries and crosses genres from Folk and Pop, to Jazz and World Music.
