New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The British trip-hop pioneers Morcheeba are releasing a remix of their song "Find Another Way" crafted by UK electronic musician Djrum. Inverted Audio called the remix "equally pensive and dynamic," saying the track "floats in a zone of its own." The original song was featured on the duo's 2018 album Blaze Away. "I love the vocals in the original and was keen to take the track in a darker direction" Djrum said, further elaborating on his production on the track, "For some years now I've been playing with the idea of ambient gabber, and this seemed like a good time to go that way. There's also a strong dub-techno influence in the track."
Morcheeba traces its roots to the mid '90s UK trip-hop scene but quickly grew into an international presence, touring across the world over the last two decades. Currently comprised of vocalist Skye Edwards and DJ/Producer Paul Godfrey, the group took a free approach to the creation of Blaze Away. There was no template for its ten, extraordinary, future-facing songs, no self-imposed limits on style, no themes to be adhered to or rules in place to break. Now they're calling on producers to reinterpret those tracks in new and creative ways with remixes of "Mezcal Dream," "Blaze Away," and "Free of Debris" already released and more to come in the coming weeks!
