New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Company) Columbia Records announces more details of the MOOMINVALLEY soundtrack, in partnership with Gutsy Animations, to be released this April 19th. After the MØ and Alma songs, the 3rd track has now been revealed as 'Summer Day' performed by Tom Odell. Tom proudly says "If someone had told me when I was eight years old that in twenty years I would get the opportunity to write and record a song for the Moomins, I can imagine it would have felt like having all my birthdays and Christmas' at once. A career peak I can only equate to Everest. I was a huge fan. And still am. And I thoroughly enjoyed every second of making this song."
The MoominsValley soundtrack will include original recordings from a stellar line-up of artists including the aforementioned Tom Odell, plus MØ, Alma, First Aid Kit, Emiliana Torrini,
Declan McKenna, Mellah, SOAK, Colonel Suns,
Josef Salvat,
Delilah Montagu, Ellinoora, Dodie and Roosberg.
Formats: 16 track album released on streaming platforms and CD; plus a limited edition 4 x picture disc vinyl LP that will feature 14 songs.
Gutsy Animations, the Finnish production company behind the cutting-edge family TV drama MOOMINVALLEY, have partnered with Columbia Records on this release. The first series of the animation - which is based on the beloved Moomin stories by Finnish-Swedish author and artist Tove Jansson will consist of 13 x 22-minute-long episodes. As a result of the collaboration with Sony Music, each of the episodes will include a featured track by one of the record label's artists.
