NASHVILLE, TN. (Aaron Tippin Fans Website) - Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of
Aaron Tippin, whose father, Willis Tippin, was killed in an unfortunate traffic accident in
Martin County, North Carolina this past Monday. Willis Tippin's truck crashed into a logging truck. Willis Emory "Tip" Tippin celebrated his 78th birthday on Monday, April 11, 2005. He was killed on Monday, April 11, 2005.
Aaron describes his dad and his relationship with him: 'My dad was the oak tree of the Tippin family. He never wavered when it came to his values and morals, his respect for all mankind, and his love and care for his family. His character and integrity remained constant—that you could count on.
He taught me to have respect for all individuals, irregardless of where they came from or what they did. He taught me that each person has a purpose and place in life. He taught me to 'stand for something;' to stand for what I believe in. He has supported me in every occupation and direction. Willis Tippin is reflective of the description of ‘father.' Willis Tippin was also my friend and trusted confidant.'
Willis Tippin trained Aaron to be a pilot. When Aaron made his decision to depart from the aviation field to become a country music singer, his dad supported Aaron without hesitation. Aaron's father's words were 'Well if you want to sing country music, then you better pack your bags and head to Nashville,' says Aaron. Willis Tippin attended every one of his son's concerts that he could.
