New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Tuesday (30/4), Lil Wayne took to his Instagram story for a very simple, but pointed post: a casket emoji. Many fans are now speculating that the rapper might be teasing the release of his long anticipated album Funeral. Weezy's been talking about the project since a 2016 interview with The Nine Club: "Funeral is coming soon...I know we've been going through a lot of tough times right now, but if you a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high real soon."
Wayne first announced Funeral during a 2016 interview with "The Nine Club" podcast. "Make sure they know that Funeral is coming soon," he said. "That's my music. Get your roses ready. I don't have a release date, but I have a whole bunch of good news coming soon. If you're a Wayne fan, I know we've been going through a lot of tough times right now, but if you are a Wayne fan, we about to hold our heads high soon."
In 2017, he also teased the project, along with other releases. "CV. Funeral. D6. Young Money," he wrote in a Facebook post.
It's unclear when Funeral will drop, but it would mark Wayne's first project since the long-awaited release of Tha Carter V in September.
