SYDNEY, Australia (Sony BMG Australia) - As politically fired-up as ever, the amazing System Of A Down are back with the explosive new single 'B.Y.O.B'...not bring your own booze or beers, but bombs yo! It's the first from their wicked new album 'Mezmerize', out May 23 - listen to it now.

US thrash-metal masters System Of A Down return to the airwaves this month to throttle our ears with their explosive new single 'Bring Your Own Bombs'. The first track to be lifted from their massively-anticipated forthcoming new album 'Mezmerize' (out on May 23), 'B.Y.O.B' is a politically charged and technically insane, bone-crunching slice of metal that's already making huge waves at US alternative and rock radio.

The song, which questions a president's involvement in the business of war, balances a funk-loaded hip-hop groove - "Everybody's going to the party have a real goodtime/Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine" - with shizophenic metal riffs and the song's recurring demand, "Why don't presidents fight the war?/Why do they always send the poor?/Why do they always send the poor?"

System completed shooting the video for the song in Los Angeles a few weeks ago with director Jake Nava. According to reports, the clip has the band performing at a defunct LA club in the dead of the night and features footage of soldiers, mind control games and even fire raining from the sky - expect to see it on Oz TV over the coming weeks.

'B.Y.O.B' is one of the 11 killer songs (including the intro) that make up 'Mezmerize' and will be released as a commerical single on May 30 - a week after the release of the album. While we're still waiting on confirmation for B-sides, but rumour has it at this stage the tracklisting could possibly include some live cuts from System Of A Down shredding it on the recent Big Day Out tour.

Get ready for SOAD to strike back full-force this May sounding as incredibly brutal and exhilirating as ever.
