Rhiannon Giddens, who has been nominated as Artist of the Year at the Americana Honors & Awards and whose new album, there is no Other, with multi-instrumentalist Francesco Turrisi, was released to critical acclaim on Nonesuch earlier this month, has shared a series of three interview videos made by director Laura
Sheeran during the five-day recording session at William Lane Recording Studios in Dublin. Giddens, Turrisi, producer Joe Henry, and engineer Ryan Freeland
discuss how they all came together to make the album; how Giddens's artistry has evolved since Henry worked with her and the Carolina Chocolate Drops on their Nonesuch debut album, Genuine Negro Jig; and how they created a varied palette of sound with the many instruments heard on there is no Other. You can watch all three videos below.
