New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Robert Plant will launch a new podcast series, Digging Deep, next Monday, June 3. Hosted by music journalist Matt Everitt, it uncovers the moments, people, and places that have inspired some of his most treasured music. The series goes on a path that starts in the Midlands, leads to Led Zeppelin, and takes the listener around the world, discussing people and places that have inspired some of Plant's music.
"Everybody has got a back catalogue, and you do tend, as artists, to only deal in the very front end of it," says Plant. "But then, now and again, down the line, opening up some of the songs, and looking back at them, I marvel at some of it, and how nuts some of it is. For this podcast, I am going to be picking out some songs from here and there along the way mixing constant shifts in sound and intention from across this long old time. Since 1981, I've enjoyed many amazing, exciting musicians. Men and women who have encouraged and enlightened, introducing me to crazy curves I could never have imagined."
Digging Deep will be available from Apple, Spotify, and YouTube, with new episodes available every two weeks, from June 3 to the last week of August. Each episode will cover tracks personally selected by Robert and include tracks from Led Zeppelin, his solo career, and folk collaborations.
Robert Plant returns to the road with his band the Sensational Space Shifters, performing songs from his latest album, Carry Fire, and more this summer. The tour kicks off in Stockholm on June 13 and heads to North
America in September. To pick up a copy of Carry Fire, head to your local record store, iTunes, Amazon, and the Top40-Charts.com Store, and listen now on Spotify and Apple Music.
