New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Daughter of Swords, aka Mountain Man's Alexandra Sauser-Monnig, has shared a video for "Shining Woman," the latest song from her upcoming album, Dawnbreaker. You can watch the video, which premiered via Paste magazine this morning, here:
"I wrote 'Shining Woman' at a moment when I was feeling really stuck and wrapped up in ideas about what being an adult woman looks like," says Sauser-Monnig. "The vision of this powerful person alone on a bike trip not asking permission from anyone appeared out of nowhere, and took up residence in my mind. Like my subconscious staging an intervention and reminding me that I haven't died, there are no rules, and that I have the power to make different choices for myself."

Dawnbreaker is due June 28 on Nonesuch Records and is available to pre-order on iTunes and the Top40-Charts.com Store with an instant download "Shining Woman," "Gem," and the title track now!

Daughter of Swords has announced a string of tour dates that include shows with Sylvan Esso, Bedouine, and Iron & Wine and Calexico, and a stop at the Hopscotch Music Festival. See below for details; for all the latest, visit nonesuch.com/on-tour.
