New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lo-fi punk/shoegaze duo CULTDREAMS (formerly known as Kamikaze Girls) have revealed the video for their new single 'Not My Generation'—the latest track to be taken from their forthcoming second album Things That Hurt, set for release on 16th August 2019 via Big Scary Monsters Records.
Alongside the new single, the band are delighted to announce a further run of UK/EU headline tour dates for
September 2019. Earlier this month the pair announced a run of August UK headline tour dates and an appearance at ArcTanGent Festival in support of the new album (see below for full listings), with tickets for all dates on sale now at: https://www.cultdreams.co.uk
On 'Not My Generation' Cultdreams develop their sound once more, leaning heavily into a newfound knack for expansive layering and atmospheric soundscapes. Lyrically, guitarist & vocalist Lucinda Livingstone is as cuttingly incisive as ever, looking back on the time period following the release of the band's debut EP SAD—on her own mental state, the state of the world, and how it affected her and others around her at that time.
"I see men ignore misogyny, as if it's not their problem, to act upon their sisters when they get touched inappropriately," spits Livingstone on the new single, before launching into an attack on the current dire state of UK politics: "While everyone is still suffering, the country that we live in is f*cking everything up. Politics and right wing sh*t. Not letting other people in. Ignoring what matters, whilst investing in ignorance."
The album's lead single 'We Never Rest' is also out now and features Katie Dvorak and
David F. Bello of The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, picking up BBC
Radio One plays from
Daniel P Carter and Huw Stephens, and was recently added to Apple Music's Breaking Rock and The New Rock playlists.

More about Cultdreams:
Cultdreams turned plenty of heads with their 2017 debut album Seafoam, with the pair receiving praise from the likes of Kerrang! Magazine,
Total Guitar, She Shreds, The Quietus, Drowned in Sound, Louder Than War, New Noise, Substream, UPSET, Discovered Magazine, The Skinny, Alternative Press and many more. On Seafoam the band boldly and unflinchingly explored depression and PTSD whilst shining a light on harmful behaviour, sexual harassment and every-day misogyny in society.
The band took two years to tour the material internationally, including support slots with Enter Shikari, Pianos Become The Teeth, Foxing, The World Is A Beautiful Place…, Gnarwolves, and Nervus. There were also festival appearances at 2000 Trees, Arctangent, The Great Escape, TRUCK Festival, NXNE, Winnipeg Jazz Festival, Ottawa Explosion, and The Fest, plus a gruelling 8 week DIY tour of the USA and Canada which the band booked themselves.
