Jay-Z Makes History With 100 Solo Billboard Hot 100 Appearances!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Jay-Z has reached a major commercial milestone! The Roc Nation mogul is the fourth rapper to earn 100 career solo appearances on the Hot 100 chart, according to a Billboard article published on Tuesday (July 30). The song that became his 100th on the chart is "Mood 4 Eva," which is a Beyonce and Childish Gambino-featured song from the Queen Bey-curated Lion King movie soundtrack, Lion King: The Gift.

Rap artists with at least 100 solo appearances include Nicki Minaj (103), Lil Wayne (163) and Drake (196). Overall, Jay-Z is the sixth artist with 100 solo appearances in the 60-year existence of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The two other acts to have over 100 charting singles are the Glee Cast (207) and Elvis Pressly (103).

Jay-Z has an additional five entries as The Carters with his wife Beyoncé, but those don't count to his overall solo appearances. Among his solo visits, the veteran rhyme-slinger hit the apex of the Hot 100 chart four times with "Heartbreaker" (with Mariah Carey) in 1999, "Crazy in Love" (with Beyoncé) in 2003, "Umbrella" (with Rihanna) in 2007 and "Empire State of Mind" (with Alicia Keys) in 2009. Jay-Z's first appearance on the Hot 100 chart was in April 1996 with the classic bangers "Ain't No Nigga" (featuring Foxy Brown) b/w "Dead Presidents."

In addition to Jay-Z achieving his chart milestone this week, his daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, nabbed her first Hot 100 chart entry with "Brown Skin Girl" from the Lion King: The Gift soundtrack. The empowering song debuted at No. 76 on the latest Hot 100 chart.
Congrats to both Jay-Z and Blue Ivy Carter.
