New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Indie-rock musician, Ro Bergman has released his track 'Horizon' alongside the video thereof via Bergman Music. The track was produced by Niko Stoessl,(Dave Gahan, IamX, NIHILS, Motoboy) and composed by Bergman himself and Niko Stoessl. The video was directed by Acoda (Marvin Strauss and Raffael Hollitzky) who have worked alongside the likes of Hunger and Granadamusik. Bergman has already racked up over 50 000 Spotify streams and 41 000 Youtube views. His track 'Best Time (Song for Marcel)' about Olympic skier Marcel Hirscher, had over 60 000 downloads and went on to become the Austrian equivalent of a platinum record.
Hailing from Austria, Bergman is an avid traveller who's wanderlust has taken him all over the world. However, his affinity for his native country is deep-rooted, and he returns to Austria often, to write, record and create - where the appreciation for culture and travel is reflected in his work. He cites the influence of his family as an early introduction to music. He went on to play in a high school band, and this was the humble beginning of what would later become a burgeoning career in music.
Ro Bergman draws inspiration from a wide variety of artists including Beck, Bon Iver, Fink, The National and The Verve. These influences come together to paint a portrait of Ro Bergmans work, with the colours of the single shining through. As a result, he has managed to create a unique sound, in comparison with Tame Impala, Foals, Local Natives and Chet Faker.
Filmed in the Wadi Rum Desert of Jordan, 'Horizon' is a cinematic triumph, depicting big skies, wide-open spaces and beautiful desert hues. A determined Bergman is seen traversing the landscape, while his lyrics of encouragement speak of new horizons. The setting gives rise to a sense of freedom juxtaposing the desolation of the desert, and shots of Bergman standing before monumental desert temples metaphorically depict a search for truth.
