New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Paul Cauthen blends old-school country and gritty soul with 70's funk and stirring gospel across 10-tracks of electrifying performances on 'Room 41,' out today, Sept. 6, via Lightning Rod Records. In a recent print profile, American Songwriter says "his new album may be what breaks him as significant talent."
Co-written entirely by Cauthen at The Belmont Hotel in Dallas, TX, and recorded at Niles City Sound (Leon Bridges,
Nicole Atkins) and Dallas'
Modern Electric studio, the record features a who's-who of modern
Texas musicians, including Matt Pence (Jason Isbell,
Nikki Lane), Beau Bedford and Jason Burt.
Cauthen sold out record release shows in Austin and Dallas this week, and he will perform songs from 'Room 41' at various shows during AmericanaFest, where his "Big
Velvet Revue" is named a local "Hot Ticket" (Nashville Scene). The larger-than-life booming baritone has recently opened for the likes of Midland, Margo Price,
Cody Jinks and others, and he's on tour with
Randy Houser this fall.
