Llee Willis And The Magic Of Her Song, September, An Unforgettable 21st Of September
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Songwriter, Artist, Comedian, and Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Allee Willis had quite a weekend. "The 21st of September", immortalized in the iconic song, "September"** which Allee co-wrote was also the night of her sold-out "21st night of September"/Motown 60 'party performance' in her hometown, Detroit, followed the next night, September 22nd, by her presenting Motown's legendary Suzanne de Passe, an award at the Motown 60 celebration at Detroit's historic Orchestra Hall. Allee also performed in the show.

That night also marked the 25th Anniversary of the legendary TV Show, FRIENDS, and the release of Artist Megan Trainor's version of another Allee Willis classic "I'll Be There For You" (The Friends theme song). To cap it all off, Allee will perform at and be honored at the Homecoming game at her alma mater, the University of Wisconsin. WHEW!

In the midst of all of this celebration which includes so much of Allee's musical contributions, at the exact time FRIENDS first aired, 8:30 PM, the Empire State Building lit up to honor the show as well.

Allee says, "This past weekend is what my childhood dreams were made of, to have contributed to pop culture and to have it all celebrated at almost the same moment feels incredible!"

On Saturday evening, Allee brought her sold-out one woman show to the Willis Show Bar, the nightclub that so many Motown musicians came from in Detroit.

At UW in Madison, Allee will lead the marching band as they play "I'll Be There For You" and another one of her hits, "Boogie Wonderland," four separate times at the Homecoming game this coming weekend. She will also perform her one-woman
'party performance' show to open Homecoming/Alumni weekend at the renowned University.

Following all of the reverie, Allee will head back to Detroit to become the first inductee into her high school's (Mumford) Hall of Fame. Mumford was made famous when Eddie Murphy wore a Mumford Phys Ed t-shirt throughout much of Beverly Hills Cop, for which Allee won a Grammy for Best Soundtrack.

At the Motown 60's celebration, Allee had the crowd roaring as she told the story of how she used to sit on the lawn in front of Motown in the 60's and learned how to write by listening to the music leaking through the walls, all the while her father was warning her to "Stay away from Black culture". Allee adds, "It was the ultimate fulfillment of my childhood fantasy to be up on stage at Motown 60 in the finale singing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered " with Berry Gordy dancing right in front of me!"

Allee is also featured in the special year-long Motown 60 exhibit in the Motown Museum, right next to Oprah Winfrey and Nelson Mandela. "I cry just thinking about it," she said.
