Nominated for three awards at this year's AFRIMA Awards, alongside the likes of Burna Boy,
Chris Brown and Davido, Ahmed Soultan has become the recognised pioneer of Afrobian (Afro-Arabian) music - a style that blends a mixture of Soul, RnB, Hip-Hop as well as traditional music - since his breakthrough album 'Ya-Sa-lam' in 2005.
Since his third album 'Music Has No Boundaries' won the Best African album category at the All African
Music Awards in 2016, 2019 has seen the realease of an extended version of the album, including 7 new tracks and now Soultan is heading out on a tour accross Europe, including a special live date at London's 229, 23rd October!
Singing in four different languages (Berbère, Arabian, English and French), Soultan has long since been proving his credentials as a true international star while performing at events such as; the Kora Awards in South Africa, Sacred
Music Festival in Fès, Moonfest Takeroust in Marrakech,
Casablanca Music Festival and Paradiso Theatre in Amsterdam. Indeed, Soultan is as widely supported worldwide now as he is on the African continent (BBC Africa, 2M TV, Nessma TV, Africable, RTS 1), as well as the Arab world (MTV, MBC, MLIVE), with tracks 'Ya Salem' and 'Koula Lila' still receiving regular airtime.
In April 2012, he was the guest of an acoustic session on BBC World TV and has also been a frequent guest on BBC
Radio 1Xtra's 'Destination Africa'. His single 'My Jailer', launched the same year, earned him the MTV European
Music Award for best Africa/India/Middle East Act, and the nomination for the MTV EMA Worldwide Act - in competition with Rihanna.
Rolling Stones Magazine have dedicated two articles to him and Forbes Magazine has quoted him as being among the '13 African Celebrities To Watch In 2013'.
