NASHVILLE, TN. (Montgomery Gentry Fans Website) - On Monday Eddie Montgomery underwent surgery on his left wrist to repair extensive damage that occurred when he took a fall from the stage during a show last week. Drs. O'Neil and Favetto (surgeons that completed the first hand transplant) performed the surgery at St. Joseph East in Lexington, KY. The surgery involved an open reduction internal fixation of the left distal radius and ulna – or in other words, they had to insert titanium plates and rods.
'I want to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Joseph East – they are unbelievable. If you saw the before and after pictures of my wrist you would know just how incredible they are,' said Eddie. 'A friend of mine, R.J. Corman, flew down to our last show on Saturday and flew me home so I could get the medical attention I needed as quick as I could – I have to give him a big thank you, too.'

Though Eddie is chomping at the bit to get back on stage, per doctors orders, he can not perform a full show for the next few weeks. Shows scheduled for May 12 & 13 in Columbus, GA and Greenville, SC have been rescheduled for Oct. 6 & 7, respectively.
