What sounds like spring to you? Is it an evening picnic, the sound of ice tea clinking in a glass, family gatherings, or perhaps a little bluegrass and country music? Then look no further than the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's performance at the Mable House Amphitheatre on Saturday, May 14th for your complete welcome-to-spring package!

Bring your family and your favorite picnic to hear the ultimate in bluegrass pickin' and country blues! Epitomizing the Southern rock sound, the Nitty Gritty Dirt band attracted lifelong fans with their smash hit, "Mr. Bojangles" off of their 1971 album Uncle Charlie and His Dog Teddy. Three decades later with various other smash successes including their album, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band remains one of the pinnacle groups bridging the differences between bluegrass, country and folk music styles.

"We started as a roots American band and evolved into what was a new form of popular music, country-rock," band member and co-founder John McEuen said. "I think our contribution to that music was that we brought more of a bluegrass and mountain feel to it. And that musical thread has remained a significant core of our music."
