NEW YORK (AOL PR) - The
Dave Matthews Band will perform a rare, intimate concert for AOL
Music LIVE! at New York City's Roseland Ballroom on Monday, May 9. This unique event will celebrate the May 10th release of
Dave Matthews Band's highly anticipated new album Stand Up. This special performance will be broadcast live on the Web at www.aolmusic.com at 9:00 PM ET.
In addition to watching the live broadcast, fans can tune in to hear a simultaneous audio broadcast on the AOL
Radio Network or watch the performance on demand for 10 days following the live event.
"We are excited about going back to play Roseland. And one of the best things about it is that our fans all over the world can check it out on AOL Music," said Dave Matthews.
"After the tremendous success of
Dave Matthews Band in Central Park: AOL Concert for Schools, we are thrilled to have them return for another show," said Jack Isquith, Executive
Director of
Music Industry Relations for AOL Music. "This will be a truly unique show, allowing millions of fans online to see
Dave Matthews Band in an intimate club setting."
This exclusive performance by the Dave Matthews Band follows the success of recent AOL Music LIVE! concerts by Kanye West, Simple Plan and Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. AOL Music LIVE! has also featured performances by Alicia Keys, Usher, Nelly, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte and Foo Fighters among others. Months after the live events, individual original performances from these concerts consistently appear on AOL Music's weekly Top 11 charts, often outpacing the traditional music videos for the same songs.
Stand Up, the new record from the Dave Matthews Band, is their first studio album since 2002's Busted Stuff. The album will be released on May 10, the day after their exclusive AOL Music LIVE! performance. Starting in June, the band will embark on a summer tour playing nearly 50 dates across the United States with a number of shows already sold out.
AOL will make tickets for this special event available through promotional giveaways on New York radio station WPLJ and through the Dave Matthews Band fan club, The Warehouse. Tickets are also available for purchase through Ticketmaster outlets.
