Pittsburgh's The Commonheart Partner With Local Charities Ahead Of Hometown Nov. 9th Show
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Pittsburgh's own "hyper-passionate blues-rock" (NPR) powerhouse The Commonheart returns to the Steel City on November 9th for a show at Stage AE amidst their extensive US tour behind their latest full-length release 'Pressure' (Jullian Records), which has won over NPR Music, Relix, American Songwriter and more. Ahead of the hometown celebration, they've partnered with Salvation Army, The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Spare Change in an effort to spread positive mentorship and support key causes in the community.

"We are thrilled to kick off the holiday season generating love with Spare Change, Salvation Army and The Michael J. Fox Foundation, three courageous organizations that create awareness, keep us warm, and continue to work towards a cure for disease," says the band's frontman, Clinton Clegg. "When we first discussed a charitable aspect to our hometown show we thought, the more the merrier, let's focus on uniting causes and spreading as much awareness as possible."

The band's partnership with Salvation Army entails a coat drive at Stage AE on November 9th beginning at 5 PM. New and gently worn coats will be accepted in the outdoor plaza near the stage AE box office throughout the evening. In addition, The Commonheart will be collecting donations on the road to fight Parkinson's disease alongside The Michael J. Fox Foundation and Spare Change. They'll also have custom shirts for sale at Pittsburgh show, with 100% of proceeds benefiting The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Donations can also be made here: https://www.spotfund.com/story/0fcd1b1b-f1c2-4ef2-ab86-252bab002f89

The band's dedication to the three local charities is just the latest positively aligned act from the golden rule-following energetic group. They've also been volunteering and spreading the word about Pittsburgh's Light of Life, which provides meals and sobriety counseling for the homeless, over the last few years.

The Salvation Army helps keep children and adults warm all winter season by providing winter clothing for local families in need. All of the items we supply are made available thanks to the generous support of our donors, who help by bringing new or clean, gently-used coats and/or winter accessories (mittens, gloves, hats, snow boots, snow pants, etc.)

As the world's largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson's research, The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to accelerating a cure for Parkinson's disease and improved therapies for those living with the condition today. The Foundation pursues its goals through an aggressively funded, highly targeted research program coupled with active global engagement of scientists, Parkinson's patients, business leaders, clinical trial participants, donors and volunteers. In addition to funding more than $900 million in research to date, the Foundation has fundamentally altered the trajectory of progress toward a cure. Operating at the hub of worldwide Parkinson's research, the Foundation forges groundbreaking collaborations with industry leaders, academic scientists and government research funders; increases the flow of participants into Parkinson's disease clinical trials with its online tool, Fox Trial Finder; promotes Parkinson's awareness through high-profile advocacy, events and outreach; and coordinates the grassroots involvement of thousands of Team Fox members around the world.
