New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "Cry Me A River" is the ninth song out of 24 on The Pierce Project's album The Last Days of Summer. The song can best be described as an alternative record with an acoustic feel, and is about someone who is having problems listening to those of his significant other.

It is recommended you listen to this song with headphones or other speakers. As the song opens, the guitar chords cut in and out of the right and left speakers, and is one of my favorite parts of the song as far as the instrumentation goes.

Lyrically, the song is thought-provoking from the beginning, with the first two lines being "It's hard to be a person/I think we both agree". By the end of the first chorus, the general message of the song (that he doesn't care to hear about his significant other's problems) is clear. This is especially true given that his life can be tough enough with his issues alone.

Melodically, what struck me the most was the song's extensive pre-chorus. Right when I started to wonder if I was actually listening to the chorus, the actual chorus arrived and was one of the highlights of the song. That is not to take away from the rest of the song, as I felt every part fit together to truly tell the story and align with the instrumentation.
