New York, NY (Top40 Charts)
Me Not You have released their latest single 'Does Anybody Out There Care' on 1 November via MNY Music. The track is lifted from their upcoming debut album Already Gone which will be released on 8 November. This follows on from previous singles 'America' which recently premiered on Wonderland, and 'I Should Know Better' which premiered on Clash
Magazine. The duo has garnered press support from a plethora of publications including Billboard, Stereogum, The Line Of Best Fit, Noisey, Wonderland, Earmilk, CLASH Magazine and many others. They have racked up nearly 6 million Spotify streams and half million Soundcloud plays, and have twice hit #1 on the Hype Machine Charts. They toured alongside Gary Numan
on his USA and Canada tours, including dates at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco, and the esteemed Brooklyn Steel in NYC.
New York-based alternative dream-pop duo Me Not You is Eric Zeiler and Nikki
Taylor. Their music is a summation of everything the two have listened to and experienced in their lives, making it inherently personal. They have seen considerable success with their two previous EP's Reckoning and Reckoning 2 and now prepare to release Already Gone, entirely self-created, composed and written.
Citing influences such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lou Reed, Radiohead, Aphex Twin, and Pixies, Me Not You's sound palette is an idiosyncratic blend of styles. From The Sisters of Mercy's deep gothic basslines to the vocal stylings of Siouxsie Sioux or Blonde Redhead, their sound spans across genres to create something entirely anomalous.
On 'Does Anybody Out There Care', Me Not You deliver their rhetorical question encapsulated in a brilliant soundscape, characterised by brooding atmospherics and left-field pop sensibilities. Nikki's vocals alongside low, rhythmic instrumentals, are highlighted by a hypnotic drumbeat and astute songcraft.
Speaking of the track, Nikki
comments: "Sometimes life feels like it's pulling you out into a riptide, and there's nothing you can do but just hold your breath and go with it. You come up for air only to be pulled back down again. 'Does Anybody Out There Care?' is about that moment when you realize it's pointless to struggle against the current... it's time to hold your breath and see where it takes you.
