New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Following his success last year as invited artist, Okuda is back with a bang, this time at Scope Miami Beach for his exhibition "Plastic Island", which reflects on the overuse of plastic and its impact on the environment. The artist's work will be on display at Oasis, the new multidisciplinary space featured at the art fair this year.
As well as "Plastic Island", Okuda will be showcasing some of his collaborative works with other artists at the Mirus Gallery space. The works on display at Scope include "Body Metamorphosis", produced in collaboration with Nychos, and the "
Monkey" sculpture, together with the Portuguese artist Bordalo, created as part of an initiative to recover the collaborative spirit of graffiti art.
Miami Art Week will close with a party on Friday, December 6. "
Kaos Garden", the fruit of a partnership between elrow, Ink and Movement and Desigual, promises an immersive experience in which the crowd forms part of Okuda's unique take on Hieronymus Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights", created especially for the occasion. The party kicks off at 20:00 at Island Gardens.
Paco Osuna, DJ and creator of the official soundtrack to "Kaos Garden", will be joined in the booth by the Canadian producer Blond:ish and elrow resident De La Swing.
SKYSCRAPERS OF COLOR
The following week, on December 14, the most surreal party of the year is coming to the City of Skyscrapers. Brooklyn's
Avant Garder space will be transformed into a polychromatic paradise as it hosts the universe of Okuda San Miguel.
Aerial sculptures, fantastical characters and lots of fun will go hand-in-hand with an unmissable lineup, commissioned by elrow. The event will be headlined by Paco Osuna, followed by the quirky English producer Eats
