New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 2019 was an eventful year for Mark Cameron and his band, and 2020 promises to be even better. Their latest release "On a Roll" reached the top five on the worldwide contemporary blues charts and spent 17 straight weeks as the number one album for radio airplay in their home state of Minnesota.
The album also received the "Best independently-produced Album" award from the Minnesota Blues Society and will compete for best album during the International Blues Challenge in Memphis later this month. "On a Roll" is the sixth release from singer-songwriter-guitarist Mark Cameron and features 14 tracks that range from the vintage Delta slide of "Where I got you From" to the hard edged blues-rock of "On Your Way to the Top".
In the middle listeners will find a unique twist on familiar blues themes with songs like "Dicey" and "Trouble Brewin". Each song is delivered with a lock-step blend of Harmonica and Sax along with a powerhouse rhythm section that drives your feet right to the dance floor. As a fan favorite at Blues festivals everywhere Cameron said: "It seems fitting that we bring our entire band to Memphis during IBC week to present these songs the way they were meant to be heard... live."
Mark and the band will be making two special showcase appearances at the Atomic Rose nightclub in Memphis on Jan 29th (noon) and Jan 30th (3 pm) as a portion of the Roots and Blues Showcase event. This Showcase will feature nine bands over two days for fifteen dollars at the door. The Atomic Rose is located one block off of Beale Street in Memphis, just south of BB Kings nightclub.
