New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Valentine's Day isn't for everyone - especially those who may have recently ended a romantic relationship. Today, Los Angeles-based pop/rock artist Alexa Villa releases her latest single "
Invisible", which is perfect for an anti-Valentine's Day soundtrack.
The second single from Alexa's forthcoming album set for a 2020 release through indie Sign From The Universe Entertainment, "
Invisible" is a song she wrote after a heart-wrenching breakup of her own. "I had literally just broken up with my boyfriend and this song was basically my closure", she says. "It's about feeling lonely in a relationship, and it's really just an honest wave goodbye."
Co-written / co-produced with her friend and fellow musician Dre DiMura, "
Invisible" features some less-than-traditional percussion instruments. "We used whatever we had lying around", says Villa. "A can of oatmeal for a shaker, the back of an acoustic guitar as the beginning kick drum, old paint brushes on the snare - everything was simple and honest."
"
Invisible" follows Alexa's debut single "
Own It" which has been garnering radio airplay on tastemaker San
Diego Alternative outlet 91X. The "seriously fierce" video for "
Own It" premiered in November on BlackBook.com.
Alexa will perform at The Troubadour in Los Angeles on April 2.
