LONDON, UK (V2 Music/ Virgin Records) - The magnificent 7 Madness release their first studio album for 6 years. 'The Dangermen Sessions Volume 1' is released on July 18th. However, this isn't just another Madness album, 'The Dangermen Sessions' is a predominately a collection of ska covers and a few classic tunes all given the inimitable Madness treatment. At the tail-end of last year Madness played a handful of super-secret gigs at Camden's Dublin Castle under the name of their alter-ego The Dangermen performing classic and little known ska cover versions. The energy and excitement of the band's early days playing sweaty shoeboxes in Camden was magically recaptured, reminding all that were lucky enough to be in attendance that Madness remain one of the best live bands in the country. It was obvious from this moment that Madness' take on the music that inspired them should be captured on record and V2 jumped at the chance to be involved. 'The Dangermen Sessions Volume 1' was produced by Steve Dub and Segs and features all the 7 original members of the band. Track-listing for the album, with original artists in brackets is as follows: 1. JOHN JONES (Rudy Mills) 2. YOU KEEP ME HANGING ON - (Diana Ross & The Supremes) - Dangermen version based on an arrangement by John Holt 3. SO MUCH TROUBLE IN THE WORLD (Bob Marley) 4.
