Donovan Woods Shares "Simmering" (Rolling Stone Country) New Song "Grew Apart"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The award-winning singer-songwriter Donovan Woods shares his new "simmering break-up tune" (Rolling Stone Country) "Grew Apart," previewing his seventh studio album, due later this year.

Produced by long-time collaborator James Bunton with vocal production by Todd Clark (Dua Lipa, Gavin DeGraw, Phillip Phillips), the song is co-written by Woods, Logan Wall and Travis Wood. It exemplifies Woods' ability to write with "soulful passion" (American Songwriter), revealing the soft underbelly of love's vagaries. Listen here: youtu.be/-dJmRgE1t-M

"This song is about all the things we tell ourselves a breakup is about when perhaps the truth is just that two people didn't like each other enough," says Woods. "The chorus is a list of linguistic place holders that people use to communicate one thing: I don't want to talk about it. I think men tend to speak about break-ups in this way so their pride doesn't get wounded, when in truth, they're hurting."

"Grew Apart" follows Woods' deeply personal "While All The While," a track co-written alongside Lori McKenna. Cumulatively, Woods' songs have earned more than 130 million streams and more than 1 million monthly listeners.

Woods' independently released song "Portland, Maine" was recently Certified GOLD in Canada.

He'll open for Brandy Clark on her "Who You Thought I Was Tour," which kicks off Tues., Mar. 31, in Houston, with stops in Los Angeles, Austin and San Francisco. Additionally, Woods will embark on a headline tour stopping in New York City, Washington D.C., Nashville and beyond (full list of dates below).
