NEW YORK (City Canyons Records/ www.citycanyons.com) - The first week of June will mark the launch of radio play throughout North
America of former Dead Can Dance drummer
Peter Ulrich's Enter The Mysterium.
Radio promotions for the album, released under the City Canyons Records imprint, will be handled by veteran music industry radio promoters, Planetary Group in Boston, MA.
Enter The Mysterium blends a variety of genres seamlessly including world-fusion, pop, new age and medieval in relating its tales of mystics, alchemists, witches, medicine men and fire walkers. Critics have praised the "thoughtful and fascinating work" and its "majestic soundscapes" that take the listener on a "lush magic carpet ride."
The release of the Ulrich album coincides with a general re-awakening of interest in the music of Dead Can Dance and its alumni. In fact, after a decade long hiatus, the reunited core of Dead Can Dance, Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, have just finished a sold-out spring tour of Europe and will coming to North America to tour in the fall.
Enter The Mysterium is distributed for City Canyons Records in North America by Avalon Distribution in Orlando, Florida. European distribution of a super audio version of the album is handled by Netherlands label, Music & Words. Distribution in Hong Kong and mainland China is by Monitor Records while Indie-CDs.com distributes the album in Australia and New Zealand.
The album is available online at the City Canyons Records online store and at CD Baby.
Other artists on the Manhattan based City Canyons roster are New York artists, Jen Elliott and Timothy Dark, UK artists David Steele and ANEMO and Finland's Valerian. Three signings of new artists will be announced soon.
