BURBANK, CA. (Warner Bros. Records) - The Crimea, one of the UK's most intriguing and inspired young bands, is set to bring their dynamic sound across the Atlantic with "Tragedy Rocks," their long-awaited debut album on Warner Bros. Records, set for release this September. In conjunction with the arrival of "Tragedy Rocks," The Crimea will also play a select series of high-profile North American dates supporting Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan on his first-ever solo tour.

Singled out for their "arena worthy performance" at the recent South By Southwest Music Conference by Spin Magazine and hailed by Ft Worth Star Telegram as "poppy like the Kinks, trippy like The Flaming Lips, but as accessible as Coldplay." The Crimea was founded by charismatic front man and published poet Davey MacManus (vocals, guitar) in 2003.

MacManus entered a lengthy creative process that resulted in thirteen emotionally charged songs that comprise their full-length debut. "I knew how I wanted to do things, and didn't stop until I'd done it," says MacManus. Signed to Warner Bros. Records, the group also recorded and released the 5-track "Lottery Winners On Acid" EP in late 2004. The EP's title track was called "a rock anthem waiting for mass acceptance" by the Austin Chronicle and The Crimea subsequently embarked on a warm-up tour of the US with Ash & The Bravery in anticipation of their major label debut album.

The Crimea's "vibrant emotional rock sound" (The Daily Telegraph-UK) will be highlighted on their upcoming tour opening for Billy Corgan. Dates are as follows:
